How do I connect my Samsung TV to the Internet?
 
STEP 1. Connecting the TV to the LAN

You can connect your Samsung TV to your LAN (Local Area Network) using the methods below.

  1. Connect your TV to your LAN by connecting a LAN cable, from the LAN port on the back of your TV, to an external modem router.

  1. Depending on how your network is configured, you may be able to connect your TV to the LAN by connecting the LAN port on the back of your TV directly to a network wall outlet.

  1. You can connect your Samsung TV to your Wireless Network by using the Samsung Wireless LAN Adaptor (ex.WIS09ABGN, WIS09ABGN2, WIS10ABGN). Samsung recommends using IEEE 802.11N which is the highest standard for Wi-Fi connection.

The Samsung Wireless LAN Adaptor may not be recognised or work properly when connecting via a USB hub or via a USB extension cable different than the Samsung approved one.


STEP 2. Setting up the network on the TV

After connecting the adaptor, a pop-up menu should appear. Please follow the on screen instructions.

If the pop-up menu does not appear, then follow the instructions below.

  1. Select the Setup menu and then choose the Network option. You will need to select the Network Type (wireless or wired).
  2. Then select Network Setup. If you use static IP address, you will need to enter it manually along with the Subnet Mask, DNS server & Gateway address.
  3. Carry out a Network Test. All four boxes should be checked if all is well.

NOTE: If you have a Dynamic Network, (you are using an ADSL modem router that supports Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP). Modems and routers that support DHCP automatically provide the IP address, subnet mask, gateway, and DNS values your TV needs to access the Internet so you do not have to enter them manually.
