If you experience frequent paper jams, try the following.

• Always use only the recommended paper and other print media that meet the standards for your printer.
• Ensure that the recommended side of the print media is facing up in the tray or manual feeder.
• Do not overload the tray. Ensure that the paper level is below the maximum paper capacity mark on the inside of the tray.
• Do not use creased, damp, or curled paper. Flex, fan and straighten paper before loading.
• Do not remove the paper from the tray while your machine is printing.
• Do not mix paper types in the tray.

If you want to prevent paper jams, follow the instructions below.

Ensure that the adjustable pointers and the lever are correctly positioned.

1. Pull the paper tray out of the printer. Open the paper cover and remove the paper from the tray if necessary.

2. Squeeze the paper width pointer and slide it to the edge of the lever.

Inspect the maintainable parts. Check the number of pages the printer has printed and compare the number with the table below. Replace the parts if necessary.

To check the number of pages printed, follow the steps below.

1. Press Menu until System Setup appears on the bottom line of the display and press OK.
2. Press the left / right arrow until Maintenance appears and press OK.
3. Press the left / right arrow until Supplies Life appears and press OK.
4. Press the left / right arrow until the Total item appears and press OK.
5. The total number of pages printed will be displayed.
6. Press Stop / Clear to return to ready mode.

IMPORTANT: The replacement should be done by an authorised service specialist. The warranty does not cover the replacement of the maintainable parts after the end of their lifespan.
