What should I do when my printer only prints half a page (horizontally)?
 
STEP 1. Overview

There might be a few causes of the problem you are having with your printer. Please do the following to resolve it.

  • Replace the ribbon cartridge.
  • Set up the printer.
  • Reinstall the printer software.
  • Upgrade the printer firmware.
STEP 2. Ribbon cartridge replacement

To replace the ribbon cartridge, please follow the steps below.

  1. Remove the cartridge from the packaging. Then rotate the roller to smooth out any wrinkles or uneven areas in the film.

  1. Insert the cartridge in the direction shown in the picture below.

  1. Make sure that the cartridge is under the lever and then close the side cover.

STEP 3. Printer setup (Windows)

To set up the printer, please follow these steps.

  1. Click Start and find the Printer window > select Properties (The printer properties window may differ depending on the operating system you use).
  2. Click each tab to access properties.

  1. Click OK when you have finished adjustment of the settings.

NOTE: Basics tab (as shown in the picture above) provides options to adjust how the document appears on the printed page. Make sure that the image and paper direction you set are in the same direction. Use the Preview mode in your application to check the image direction to be printed.
STEP 4. Software reinstallation (Windows)

If the printer software does not work properly, reinstall the program as follows.

  1. If your printer is not connected to the PC, connect it.
  2. Next, select Start > Programs or All Programs > Samsung SPP-2020 Series.
  3. Under Maintenance select Repair.

  1. Select the Samsung SPP-2020 Series printer driver and click Next.
  2. The window asking you to print a test page appears. If you choose to print a test page, select the check box and click Next. When the test page prints out correctly, click Yes.
  3. Click Finish when the reinstallation is done.
STEP 5. Firmware download

The firmware upgrade can be downloaded from the Downloads section on the Samsung UK website.

Once on the Downloads page choose your product type, subtype and model number and then click Select.
